Military Family Rights
Military families have special enrollment protections under California Education Code Section 48204.3 to help students stay on track, even when moving or facing deployment-related changes.
- Enroll anywhere: Students can attend public school even if temporarily living outside the district or authorized counties due to a military assignment.
- Priority enrollment: Families receive priority to enroll and stay enrolled, even if housing situations change during the school year.
- Smooth transfers: Relocating doesn’t disrupt your child’s education. Transfers must be streamlined.
