English Learners

Education programs are created to make sure that English is learned quickly and efficiently. These programs teach English learners using state-adopted academic content standards, which include English language development (ELD) standards. Excel Academy provides a Structured English Immersion Program for English Learners. The program includes classroom instruction in English, but with a curriculum and presentation specifically designed for students who are learning English. Students have access to grade level academic subject matter content with Integrated ELD, and are also provided designated ELD instruction. Our students are regularly monitored to support progress. Families and other advocates of English Learners are encouraged to participate in our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) which meets four times each year.
