Day in the Life of Madison

A close-up, joyful portrait of a young girl named Madison with long brown hair smiling at the camera.

Madison

Madison is a 7th grader who recently made a transition from public school to homeschool. After many years of “traditional” learning, Madison and her parents felt that her personal needs, desire, and learning preferences weren’t being met. Madison’s first year of homeschooling with Excel Academy exceeded all her expectations. She grew a new passion for science, conducting her own experiments, collecting data, and documenting results, which made science enjoyable for her. She discovered that her learning style varies depending on her energy for the day. Visual, Kinesthetic, Reading/Writing, and Auditory were all types of learning techniques Madison used throughout the school year.

Madison found it quite rewarding to have complete control of how she managed her own school schedule. Through personalized learning, Madison was given the tools and support for academic advancement without sacrificing her desire to pursue creativity and dance.
